Gold Rush Fine Jewelry

In 1901, when E.T. Barnette was just founding the city of Fairbanks, Felix Pedro was busy looking for his first big strike. In July of 1902 he found it just 12 miles north of the Chena River—and the rush to Fairbanks was on.

Gold Rush Fine Jewelry has been in business for over 25 years; located in historic downtown Fairbanks, just off the banks of the Chena River near the Fairbanks Visitors Center. The rustic Alaskan setting takes you back to the old days of prospectors and gold miners. Gold Rush Fine Jewelry is proud to be the home of the finest gold nuggets in the territory.

An ounce of gold can be hammered into a thin sheet of at least 100 square feet, or stretched into a thin wire more than 5 miles long. A thread drawn from one ton of gold would stretch to the moon and back.
